A calm, grown-up hotel welcoming guests from age 14.
Milla Montis first appears as four dark-larch gables stepping down the Maranza hillside, as much a piece of the landscape as a hotel. Peter Pichler Architects drew their curves from local barns, rooflines and mountain peaks. Inside, pale ash, green loden, stone and slate soften the geometry. Newer rooms in the neighbouring Untermüllerhof add another chapter, while keeping the original building's sculptural character clear.
The Oberhofer family gives the hotel its easy daily rhythm. Breakfast is followed by homemade cake in the afternoon and a five-course à-la-carte dinner, all included, with South Tyrolean produce and inherited Alpine recipes lifted by Mediterranean influences. There are only 36 rooms and suites, each with a balcony or terrace, so the atmosphere remains personal even as the hotel has grown.
Time between ski days is just as thoughtfully handled. The guest-only Montis Spa brings together a 33°C outdoor infinity pool, warm whirlpool, saunas, steam bath, hay room and quiet spaces facing the mountains. In winter, the included shuttle runs to the Gitschberg lifts and collects guests after skiing, with current arrangements confirmed by the hotel. The mood is calm and grown-up rather than formal, with guests welcome from age 14.

Maranza, or Meransen, is a sunny, spread-out mountain village above Mühlbach/Rio di Pusteria. It feels quieter than a compact resort centre, with the Gitschberg lifts close by and broad views across the Puster Valley and Dolomites.
Gitschberg Jochtal has 55 kilometres of pistes and 15 lifts across the Gitschberg and Jochtal sides, with gentle learning areas, mountain huts and plenty of approachable cruising. The live lift, piste and snow report will help you choose the best part of the area each morning.
Winter walking, snowshoeing, tobogganing and cross-country skiing all offer slower ways to explore the area. The nearby Altfasstal is especially appealing for a winter walk, with current route and transport information helping you choose the best day to go.

We use the hotel’s official information for the stay itself, and relevant official and editorial sources for travel and ski guidance. We only show details while our sources support them, and leave unresolved claims out. Recheck changeable arrangements such as inclusions, schedules, shuttles and seasonal access before booking.
