Visit the official hotel websiteHotel Arlberg began in 1956, when Johann and Helga Schneider opened a guesthouse with 26 beds. Each generation has added something, from the darker hunting-lodge character of the Jagdhof wing to bedrooms and spa spaces shaped by Pointner Design. Oak, Vals quartzite, natural plaster, loden and linen now sit alongside timber panelling, tiled stoves, old photographs and inherited furniture. It feels considered but still personal, like a family house that has learned how to change without editing out its memories.
The 1,000 m² spa makes a persuasive case for a slow afternoon. An indoor pool lined with Vals stone looks through broad windows, while a 14-metre outdoor pool is kept at 31°C beneath the Omeshorn. Saunas, steam rooms, hydrotherapy, quiet spaces and a gym fill out the circuit. There is a separate Family and Ladies' Spa too, welcoming younger guests during the day before becoming women-only from 5 pm. Treatments cost extra, and day-spa visitors may also be admitted when space allows.
Food gives the hotel several different moods. Lunch on the sun terrace can lead to fondue or raclette in the ten-table Stube, a drink at the bar, or a tasting menu at Michelin-starred La Fenice. Across the road, hosts Benjamin Schneider and Patrick Krummenacher have created the Arlberg Club House as a separate, livelier sibling, with a public restaurant, shop, coffee bar and Margo's Bar & Club. The main restaurant keeps half board flexible, with guests choosing each day whether to take its six-course dinner. Outside, central Lech puts lifts, cable cars and the ski school close at hand. The hotel's chauffeur can also cover destinations in Lech, Zürs and Zug when arranged directly.
